In the trial version (134 MB), you can experience both single and multiplayer gameplay, including limited vehicle combat. In the single player campaign level The Silent Cartographer, you assume the role of super-soldier Master Chief as you take on the fierce alien faction known as the Covenant. In the multiplayer map Blood Gulch, up to 16 human opponents can light each other up with devastating weaponry and combat vehicles, including the new Rocket Warthog and the Banshee, either online or via LAN connection. | ||

| #1, then you need to find out what is wrong with your system. I am running the demo on an AMD XP 1800+ Tbred, with only 512mb of PC3500 DDR-RAM, with an ATI 8500DV 64mb using Cat 3.6 drivers, and Windows XP Pro SP1, and it is awesome. |

Runs 'decent' for me. Not blistering fast, but I get by with a 2.53Ghz P4 and Ti4400 card.
It IS fun as hell. I'm not really into these types of games, and this is the first one that's kept me interested for more than 10 minutes. I bought it Saturday morning, installed it at around 6pm on Saturday night and before I knew it it was 4 hours later :) TL |

Personally don't think the game was ported that well. Loaded this up on my Pentium 3.0c system overclocked to 3.6ghz with a ATI 9700pro and 1GB of Dual channel ram and the game runs like crap. Normally run games at 1280x1024 full everything and i had to go back to 1024x768 and turn off some of the settings to get it even playable. Still get low frame rates when there are a lot of characters on screen. Thought it was a driver issue so I loaded the latest ones from ATI but same problem.
I then loaded Max Payne 2 and this game runs beautifully at 1280x1024 everything set to high. So i did the simple thing - uninstalled Halo and played Max Payne. This post was edited by kaikara on Monday, October 20, 2003 at 08:38. |

| On my 1.2ghz T-Bird, GF3 Ti200, and 768mb of RAM, it runs decently at 800x600, low textures, no shadows, and low decals, in multiplayer mode. Single Player works a bit faster, so I can up some of the settings. |

| I never played the Xbox version, but was excited when the demo came out. Runs fine on my machine, looks great... but it plays like a console game! Slow character movement and is inaccurate.. shoot in the general direction controls.... dissapointing I won't be buying this one... MS ruined a perfectly good FPS by making this console only from the beginning. Sad to see so much potential wasted... |
