Microsoft Reveals Search-Engine Ambitions | |

Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) control over nearly everyone's Internet experiences may get even more comprehensive when plans to develop its own Web browser come to fruition. The Redmond, Washington-based software giant has acknowledged that it is determined to create its own search technology, a move that suggests there soon could be a major shakeup of the booming search-engine market. The revelation also may provide some clues to Microsoft's nascent next-generation platforms, meaning it is likely search capability will be a major feature of the company's yet more-integrated upcoming products. | ||

| monkey, the term Google or Googling is now part of our Lexicon so I can't imagine Microsoft usurping them. Which leaves a buyout as the only option for MS. |

| Google is not and will not be up for sale, Microsoft knows this all to well as they already approached Google in 1999 and again in 2001. Google is a very idealistic company that has benefited from developing solid technology. Google proves that idealism and capitalism can work together; Microsoft must now usurp Google solely on the merits of their technology. Microsoft has worked extremely long and hard on developing search technology and from what I've seen its going to be a few years before Microsoft can fully compete. But when Microsoft releases their tools and technology it’s going to be very interesting. Interesting in that Microsoft has shown up late to the party, but it’s not going to leave the party, it will try to become the party. |
