Ensuring that the long-awaited sequel to one of the industry’s most groundbreaking games will not only live up to five years of anticipation, but will also give gaming enthusiasts a reason to fasten their seatbelts in front of their PCs, Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 will bring scientist Gordon Freeman and his creeping, shooting alien nemeses back to life -- with the vibrant graphics and enhanced gameplay needed for a truly immersive experience -- with the release of "Half-Life 2®" by Valve Corp. CS will almost certainly be ported to it soon after it's released.
From what I've seen, Half-Life 2 might be the first title to take the crown away from Id Software for most anticipated game release. |

| Hrm... I dunno... switch to Sun(tm) Linux(tm) and get the Real One player, or stay with Windows XP and play Half-Life 2.... tough decision |

HL2 looks so sweet it makes me wish I had a better system on which to play it. As it stands now I *might* be able to squeak out 35FPS at 800x6t00x16, but I doubt it.
Anyone want to give me a new setup?... No?... crap. |

| If you have broadband, check out the Steam Beta at www.steampowered.com for not only preview movies of HL 2, but also updated versions of HL, CS, Opposing Force, and some other stuff. Not to mention that the Steam engine, which has integrated chat/buddy list, and runs as normal windows on your desktop, is cool as hell. Valve is building an awesome multiplayer game platform... |

| as incredible as halo2 will be, i would advise buying both. half-life on pc will be incredible. Oh, and it wont be too shabby on xbox either. |

The Halo 2 clip that I've seen looks awesome. Character interaction, graphics, the overwhelmingness of the game... looks like it will totally eclipse the original Halo in all aspects of gameplay.
Doom 3 looks to be something that will change FPSs forever, with the idea of total game immersion... I need to buy a new computer as well. I've been upgraded this system from an T-Bird 900 w/ 256mb of PC133 and a Geforce256 all the way up to a T-Bird 1200, 768mb of PC133, and a Geforce 3 TI200... Don't think I can get much more out of it, short of getting a 1.4ghz T-Bird. |
