Neowin Experiences Hosting Trouble | |

Just as an FYI, it appears that our friends at Neowin have had an unfortunate incident with their host. Let's hope they are back up soon!
Due to an administration error by our host, our hard disk has been wiped and we are currently working on restoring the site to normal. Please do not contact rackshack about this, as it will not aid in our recovery
Please visit Neowin MSN Community while we try to restore the site to normal as quick as we can.

rm -rf /* is a b!tch! :) I must say, it's a lot harder to accidentally nuke a drive in Windows than it is for Linux, so that's one thing Windows has over Linux.
NeoWin is the most unlucky site ever, those guys just can't get a break. Sometimes I think AWin should've stuck with a hoster because of all the troubles we have, but then crap like this happens and it reminds me that we're still better off, even though it's more of a PITA. |

Having visited the MSN Neowin Group in the meantime, have seen a lot about this kidd0 and his DoS attacks. I know it's unrelated to this incident but WOW! They really ARE unlucky! How do they stand with regards to getting things back? Surely Rackshack can be fined or something? I know if I was in their shoes the most annoying thing would be the time and effort it takes to get things back up, not so much the fact they were down to start with. Come back Neowin - Activewin and Neowin are my most utilised sources of info throughout the day, so am only running at 50% now... |

| #9 It's only a bitch if you are stupid enough to run that as root - otherwise the worst you can do is blow away your home directory =) And how is that different to running del, rd or deltree (depending on your OS)? If you really want to do some damage you also have fdisk to help you out! |
