Ex- Microsoft Ex Won't Run For Governor | |

Former Microsoft executive Bob Herbold announced Monday that he won't seek the Republican nomination for governor.
After weeks of deliberation, Herbold, 61, called the job a "bad fit" that isn't suited to his experience and talents.
"Getting things done in a business world is far different than getting things done in a political world," Herbold told The Associated Press. "There's an awful lot of people who are operating independently, with their first priority being themselves."
The decision could dash the hopes of GOP leaders who wanted to agree early on a candidate who could unite the party, avoid a fractious primary battle and win the Governor's Mansion for the first time in more than a decade. | ||

He's Republican, he just isn't conservative. More conservative than Grey-out Davis? Sure. But not a Conservative. Arnold never claimed to be one, just like Bloomberg never claimed to be one.
In fact, I don't think anyone has said he was except some excited Republican voters in California. Sadly, they will be disappointed. Arnold is a decent candidate (compared to the rest, at least), and he'll probably do a mediocre job trying to repair the state (it's mostly beyond repair at this point, thanks Democrats!), but don't look for any Ronald Reagan out of Arnold. Reagan was already talking about the evils of Communism and and how the liberals were going to destroy California and America by this point in his campaign and I haven't heard Arnold take a strong stance on anything yet, really. But boy the Katie Couric slander Machine is already going strong on this one, isn't it? She had a whole slew of deffamations against him. She stopped shy of outright calling him a Nazi, though. I was kinda hoping she would... |
