That new iPod is pretty nice. If it was cheaper, and supported WMA, I'd be all over it.

I think this is cool.
I'm curious. Does Quicktime actually stream in a secure manner? Out of curiousity I went and looked and found the Quicktime videos nicely stored in my IE temporary internet files directory. Copy them out of there and I can play whenever I want! Just wondering how they intend to control downloading. |

Well I still think pressplay is better than this... I use pressplay and have for a good while now. I don't really see anything innovative about Apple's offering at all yet they get a ton of press for being late to market.
www.pressplay.com It literally rocks and you get wma's. You have to purchase download packs but its less than a buck a song. There is also a 10 dollar fee per month. As for the king of MP3 players it gets released this fall and its called Media2Go. Peace, RedAvenger |

I have heard from tons of people that this will revolutionize the music world... Apple innovates again!
I really don't see how this is better but will have to use it to see whats up. The files that I pay under a buck per song I can burn to CD's through pressplay. I don't see Apple offering anything new that pressplay doesn't already have. Peace, RA |

aosgood: "9 cents is still a rip off. With no cd pressing shouldn't these be more like 25 cents? so a full album would cost maybe at the most 5 bucks? Don't be happy with 99 cents. So that means if an album has 16 tracks and you want the full album, you have to pay more than what Wal-Mart sells it for? Please!!!"
Actualy, if you had read anything about the service, you'd know that albums are $9.99 and sometimes even lower. No shipping costs either. It's a fantastic vaule and very easy to use. I just bought an album last night. The Apple music service rocks! Once you actually use it you'll see why. |

You really need to read a little :) Single tracks are .99. You can buy the whole album for 9.99. Not only is CD burning allowed, but it is UNLIMITED CD burning. There is a limitation that you can only (?) burn the same exact play-list 10 times, but that is just to prevent mass piracy of entire CD's. If for some odd reason you need to burn more than 10 copies of the same play-list, all you have to do is either re-create the play list or change it in some small way. A smart person would make one burn from iTunes, and then use normal CD burning software to make the copies since normal CD's you burn are standard CD's and not protected. TL |

There are a LOT worse things in life than being forced to install iTunes/PC to use the service. iTunes is, bar none, the most user friendly music player in existance. I doubt you have to worry about it though. iTunes/PC is the last thing I would expect. More likely, I suspect they will continue to partner with MusicMatch and integrate it into their player. Just a guess. And that's not such a bad thing... TL |

I hate to burst your guys bubble, but have you seen how crappy Quicktime for Windows is, especially as compared to the Mac version?
Flat out, Microsoft can't make Mac software very well, and Apple can't make Windows software very well. |
