Three and a half years of development work by some 5,000 Microsoft Corp. staff will culminate this Thursday in the launch of the Windows Server 2003 family of products at an event in San Francisco. Windows 2003 does not include plug and play (for stability and security concerns they say). It is not picking up my sound card now I have to open my box and see what kind of card it is (I can't remember), then download the drivers manually.
Does anyone know how to get rid of that restart screen that requires a restart reason? At first it was cute but now it is annoying. Other than that I am having a real good time with it. I appreciate the fact that everything came "locked down". Besides fixing bugs, developers also found a number of other ways to tighten security by design in Windows Server 2003. For example, the team removed the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) feature from Windows Server 2003. It's just UPnP.

PnP is different than UPnP. UPnP is NOT available with Windows Server 2003. This OS was not designed for desktop/workstation use. HTH |

#8, I have a great sound card in there and it worked great under Win2k. This is my home server and servs as the DC for my network of 5 computers. I have RCA jacks running from my computer into my receiver.
Why do you need a sound card in any computer? |
