Trusted Computing Group Will Aid Microsoft's Palladium | |

An industry consortium has been formed to take over the development of specifications for a security hardware subsystem that the group hopes will be pervasive. Microsoft Corp expects the group will develop specs compatible with the work carried out in its Palladium trusted computing project. Intel, AMD, Microsoft, IBM and HP founded the Trusted Computing Group, which announced its existence yesterday, to take over work started in 1999 by the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance. The TCG hopes the TCPA's approximately 200 members will now join the TCG. | ||

tgnb - Actually if anything it sounds like you are trying to force me not to buy it.
I don't see anything coming from Microsoft other than press releases talking about a new product available that I may or may not buy at my leisure. |

I said I dont have any displeasure AS LONG AS THEY DON'T shove it down my throat. "I hope that you have some good insights to educate me with, becuase if Palladium is as bad as you say then I want to be informed. However, if you don't have anything but conjecture please refrain from littering the useful conversation with FUD." I didn't say Palladium is bad at all so STFU little boy and refrain from littering the conversation with lies and idiotic interpretations caused by the lack of reading ability. Palladium is not a requirement. By default, computers that ship with NGSCB hardware will have its features disabled.
Even when enabled, only OSes/applications that are specifically coded for the NGSCB API will use its features. Other OSes/apps will run as they do currently. |

| It'll be a BIOS switch. If you don't want it, turn it off, just like you can currently do with the Pentium CPU serial numbers. |
