In January last year Bill Gates, the chief executive of Microsoft, emailed every employee, informing them that the world's largest software company had some new priorities. The revolution was "trustworthy computing", and it meant that all Microsoft software was to henceforth concentrate on the feature triumvirate of availability, security and privacy. | ||

God, I can't stand people like this.
Some people just anylize things too much. What Microsoft means to be as reliable as, say, water, all they mean is the product will always be there, the consumer will always have access to it. The equivelant of the software crashing/failing is the water no longer continuing to run. This is the goal that Microsoft is trying to achieve. |

| It is just me or is everyone missing the context of the MS's statement? Basically what are they saying in the general sense is that in the past security wasn't their primary focus. And that going forward they aspire to make security pervasive to point where the system is functioning like water. Does anyone really stop to think where the drinking water comes from? |
