Wouldn't you rather check your e-mail, get directions, show movies to the kids and listen to digital music files than sit in traffic, staring at the road and listening to the radio? With any luck, we'll have cars that can drive themselves a few years from now, taking the human element out of the equation.
Until then, this seems like a good solution: "To address concerns over the safety of operating a complex system in a moving car, many features of the auto PC can be used with voice recognition. Equipment makers usually turn off text e-mail display or the video from a DVD when the car is moving." |

These people ARE kidding, right?
Drivers can't even use a Cell Phone without killing themselves, and they want them COMPUTING while on the road? Good Grief... TL P.S. AW Staff - PLEASE fix that damned bug that keeps the site from remembering log-in's. PLEASE. |
