Microsoft has dismissed the growing threat of Linux, hitting back at claims about the security and cost of the open source platform. In an interview with vnunet.com Mark Greatorex, director of the .Net developer group at Microsoft, said Linux is more of a threat to Unix than to Windows. "We desire to be the major platform of choice and we don't see Linux taking market share away from Microsoft - only Unix," he said. | ||

#2 and #3, I think that you are both wrong! ofcourse they are worried about Linux on the desktop. They would total fools to ignore the possible threat. You think all of the code sharing/viewing with governments and large corporations was done out of kindness? They are taking every step possible to ensure that they ahead on the desktop. Linux doesn't have the apps to compete with MS today but we are not talking about today. Only the paranoid will survive in the coporate world.
I don't think you guys follows he news! almost daily I read about some town/city/state that wants to pass a law favoring Linux. Wouldn't you be worried on all levels? |
