Sun Microsystems has spent so much time on its war efforts -- against Linux and Microsoft -- that its products may be suffering. One engineer took his concerns about Java's implementation on Solaris public. Despite getting a judge in its landmark case against Microsoft to grant a "must carry" order that requires the Redmond company to include Java in the standard Windows XP package, Sun's fortunes have begun to falter. First, the Court of Appeals issued a stay of the "must carry" order until it could determine if the lower court had the right to issue it, based on the fact that the judge in the Microsoft-DOJ settlement specifically ruled out the "must carry" option in her final opinion. | ||

Sun is an amazing company to me!
1. They claim that they need MS distribute their stuff to have a competitive balance. 2. Yet they caim that Java is the mostly widely used tool and has market dominance. 3. They claim that MS bundling is a bad thing. 4. Yet their new "Orion" push is all about bundling. 5. They are fighting "the great battle" against MS yes Linux is their true enemy. |
