For years, people have viewed Microsoft as Linux' worst enemy. That's not an unreasonable assumption; Microsoft has certainly never given the open source OS a warm reception, and the software giant has the most to lose if Linux succeeds in the long term. However, another threat to Linux is emerging, and it isn't based in Redmond. The threat, this time, is coming from within. | ||

1: Linux is a real threat. Even Microsoft acknowledges this. http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,3959,885490,00.asp 2: Just because Linux didnt't cause MS's share to go down doesn't mean Linux didn't stifle MS's growth in server marketshare. 3: Some Linux distributions have excellent support. Just because its different kind of support, doesnt mean its bad or nonexistant. 4: Every vendor is not failing and distributions are not disappearing faster than new ones appear. Stop spreading such FUD! |
