Michael Dell sits down to talk about his company's investments, working with Microsoft, and an alternative OS for your PC. A full day of interviews at Dell Computer's headquarters here is more than enough to get a firm grip on what executives consider the key virtues of the company. One vice president after another will recount Dell's success in listening to the customer, going after mature markets, and attacking competitors with a healthy dose of pragmatism. | Contrary to popular belief that Dell completely dropped Linux, they do in fact still offer it on certain configurations such as the Dell Precision Workstation 650. |

Uhh, what charts would those be? The only charts Netcraft provides the public refer to web sites, not servers. If you go back to the December charts... They have an interesting fact... http://www.netcraft.com/Survey/index-200212.html They report some 36 million web sites, but only 4 million IP addresses. That means there is no correlation at all between sites and servers. Some servers host many many sites. Some sites are hosted by many many servers. The netcraft reports are pretty much worthless. |

| "Linux is right now about where HTML was in 1996" ... Nice try on the analogy, but HTML only had to overcome the Gopher protocol to succeed. However Gopher sucked, had no modern features, and was never very popular even within internet-aware people of the early '90s. |

| #2 Why do you care what someone else decides to do with their own computer? Whilst I won't comment on my own personal thoughts about Dell and your statement of it being a "perfectly good computer"... why does it upset you so much that someone might install an OS on it that is not Windows? Or perhaps setup a dual-boot system for instance. |
