Judge chides Microsoft for Java exclusion | |

Microsoft Corp. could be forced to give a huge boost to archrival Sun Microsystems under an opinion issued yesterday by a Baltimore federal judge. The ruling, by U.S. District Judge Frederick Motz, could force the Redmond company to include Sun's Java software -- which competes with its own .NET framework -- in its Windows and Internet Explorer products. But the legal drubbing Microsoft took from Motz in a 42-page opinion doesn't require the company to do anything yet, pending an order the judge is slated to issue early in the new year. | ||
