Apple has just released a fix for the recently discovered QuickTime 5 Plugin compatibility issue with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 and Internet Explorer 6. Indeed users running the latest versions of the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, had the bad surprise to see that their QuickTime plugin was totally -unplugged- thus they weren't able to view any quicktime videos. According to apple, this problem is due to the fact, IE 5.5 SP2 & the soon to be released IE6, no longer support Netscape-style plug-ins, such as the one of QuickTime 5.0.2 and earlier versions. Thankfully Apple has been fast to offer a patch. Simply click the link above and a new ActiveX component will be downloaded to replace the faulty QuickTime 5.0x IE plugin so you can re-enjoy QuickTime websites.
