Microsoft Corp. this week is launching the most ambitious attempt yet to create an online video-game service, gambling that the product will spur sales of its Xbox system. The new Xbox Live service allows users of the system to play against each other over the Internet. While computer gamers have been able to play online for years, the makers of game consoles are just beginning to experiment with connecting players to more than just their family-room television set. | ||

I am an Xbox Live beta tester. I have played MotoGP and loved it. I am buying Ghost Recon this weekend and plan to spend a great deal of time playing it on Xbox Live. The only thing that I am disappointed in is that Halo is not supported, but I understand why. Xbconnect.com is also a great alternative.
I do think that Xbox live is worth the $50/per year. |

I am also a beta tester and have been playing for over 2 months. The service is FLAWLESS now. During the first couple of weeks, I was disconnected every few games. I have not had this experience in over a month.
I've been playing MotoGP and NFL Fever, and I have to say that the days of the DISconnected console are numbered. Once you experience the unpredictability of a human opponent, no computer AI can hold your interest. FWIW, I plan to purchase Unreal and MechAssault (both are XBox exclusives). And I agree with RedHook, the service is definitely worth $50/year. |

mooresa, I also plan to get Unreal but I am not so sure about MechAssault.
Titles that I plan to get this year: Medal of Honor Splinter Cell Ghost Recon Mortal Kombat I also agree that "Once you experience the unpredictability of a human opponent, no computer AI can hold your interest. " I only play Halo online for that simple fact. |

I'm also a tester and also agree with the previous statements on pricing and quality of service.
I've definitely had a great time on XBL. Sorry I haven't gotten to play a game with you yet, mooresa56. |

Probably Unreal Championship or Mech Assault initially (if not both).
I mostly play MotoGP when I'm on currently. |
