Cool.
But, for heavens sake, what IS it with these restore point uninstalls? Anyone else see the problem with this nonsense? First the movie software, now this. If they didn't tie everything into the damned operating system, and create APPLICATIONS like everyone else, we wouldn't have these problems. TL |

#5 - I think Byron means through System Restore. Unless something has changed with the public release, the runtime does not have its own uninstaller.
Also, starting with RC0 vs. RC1 is like a programming language with 0-based arrays versus one with 1-based arrays. It's purely a matter of preference. Some teams start with RC0, some with RC1. It makes it no less a true Release Candidate build. |

| Unless you have a game that requires DX9 (very unlikely) or you're developing one, there is absolutely no need to install DX9 to your machine. It will only cause problems with your existing games. It really never boosts any performance for your existing games from all the past DX updates. |

Let me get this correct: some people are bitching that software which is not released and not even RC 2 yet cannot be uninstalled.
Interesting, here is a strange idea! "DON'T INSTALL IT". Or is that too complicated? And like #9 pointed out you probably don't even need it. |

I noticed that Windows XP after SP1 claims that Windows Media Player is removable via add/remove programs. If you try it, though, it won't uninstall.
Have you actually removed it from Windows 2000, becker? |
