Microsoft Corp. sold 6.5 million shares in Ticketmaster over the past year, cutting its stake in the biggest U.S. ticketing agency to 5 percent. Microsoft sold the Class B shares in a series of privately negotiated transactions between late November 2001 and Nov. 1, 2002, for an average $21.19 each, according to a Thursday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Microsoft ranks as Ticketmaster's second-largest shareholder behind USA Interactive, Barry Diller's Internet company.
