I'm not sure that "next to the TV in the living room" is really where it was designed to be. I think it's really designed to be a computer, and a DVR at the same time. Honestly, I can really only see it being useful for people who don't have a great deal of space for their computer and their entertainment center... like college students.
Aside from that, I'm with you... I don't see the need. It would be nice, however, to have a DVD-R :) |

| #3, mikekol is right, it isn't meant to be used with a TV. The remote is indeed for the computer. |

| what happened to the message where you said you had read the press release and it agreed with what we were saying. I didn't say it couldn't be used as with a TV, but it isn't really intended too. It would be the same as hooking your computer up to a TV, you could do it and there's nothing wrong with it, but it isn't really how it is meant to be used. |

Can't find that picture of the Samsung version of the MCE computer, but it is a much better form factor for the living room. (but at the same time not as expandable) The Moxi is nice though:) Believe me, from a HTPC point of View, THE MCE is nothing. the moxi isn't even on the screen (would rate it below the MCE actually in that point of view(not expandable and doesn't support HDTV) unfortanlty HP's form factor Sucks, although its higher end has some good support it still uses a realatively low end Graphics card (acceptable for tv and basic system funtions but not for the other main reason to move a PC into the living room, Games) El |
