Microsoft Corp. will require some computer makers to post a prominent link to its MSN Internet-access service when they ship computers loaded with Microsoft's new Windows XP software this fall, the company said. The requirement seems to run contrary to the Redmond, Wash., company's move two weeks ago to give computer makers more flexibility in configuring their Windows XP screens. The software has been a hot-button issue in the computer industry because critics charge it comes loaded with many powerful Microsoft services that could have an unfair advantage over the competition. | ||
