"Your calendar at calendar.msn.com is now the roaming version of the MSN 8 Calendar. MSN 8 is a fee-based Web service that offers e-mail, money management, photo storage and editing, and many other programs and services. If you have installed MSN 8, you can use the MSN 8 Calendar on the computer where it is installed. You can also use the roaming calendar to access your calendar from any computer that is connected to the Internet. Your appointments and tasks show up in both places. Important: The MSN 8 Calendar will not be available in some countries or regions where MSN Calendar has been available in the past. For those areas, you will not be able to access or use this calendar after December, 2002. All of your calendar data will be deleted from the MSN servers. Changes to MSN Calendar The MSN 8 Calendar is an all-new calendar. To work with MSN 8 Calendar, the roaming calendar has been changed in the following ways: "

| Am I missing something? I don't see a single bit of difference in the calendar's abilities. Yes, it looks different... but what abilities do I no longer have as someone who doesn't subscribe to MSN? I just checked and I can still do EXACTLY what I've always done. |

Counting on intellisync for MSN8 I would switch back to MSn services (went for Yahoo, which for a while has done what MSN should have done and for free). Now, two things:
1- Can one subscribe to MSN 8 without going for their acces package (I already have ADSL from BT here in the UK)? and if not, That is a big mistake by MS 2- Will the calendar be available to non-subscribers, minus the online version but with sync to palms et all? rigth now, I can use Ical in the Mac, and together with Isync, pass on my info to my palm, if I want to share it on the net then I need a .MAC account. Windows lacks a good native calendaring option (Outlook costs money and needs a rehaul which seems to be on the way at a probably less affordable price), is MS thinking of filling that gap?, an OS geared for the digital living without a decent movie making app (WMM is really poor) and a good 'lifestyle management' app (calendars and sync softeware) as native applications for free in the OS is really behind, you end up better with a MAC for that (and I don't like them) |

| MSN 8 has a bring your own access package. I think it's $9.99 per month. |
