OH wow, and I thought I could make fun of apple for the "switch" ads. This horrible, in fact its terrible. I mean comeon, how lame is this? National MSN 8 day???? Who came up with this joke, its not even april fools. I mean look through the pictures, I wanted to slap MS for being so idiotic to try and even promote MSN 8 this way.
Note to MS: FIRE anyone who worked on the project in that town, and NEVER ever let anything like this happen again! I'm trying to get an intership working for MS over the summer, and I can see it now, my friends asking me if I've ever met the buttlefly lady.... BTW, any guesses to how long she had to stay in that plastic cocoon??? How long does it take for a butterfly to emerge, 1 month or something???? Anyone know? |

Zeo, this is, actually a very good piece of marketing hype.
The switch ads are also pretty good, as the people on it don't sound like actors... although, most of them sound like idiots... but that's a whole other thing. |

Hey CPUGuy, they don't sound like actors in Apple's ads because...get this...they AREN'T actors. Amazing isn't it? Apple gets REAL people to talk about their REAL experiences UNSCRIPTED. I wonder if Microsoft can do that? Naa...they'd probably just use stock photos and a paid writer instead.
Whether you like them or not they are real and they are getting more people to do the same...switch to the Mac. |

| I look forward to Messenger 5. Despite the bugs, what I've seen of it so far is pretty nifty. I'm also looking forward to being able to log into MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger simultaneously. |

Being a little crude, whenever I hear the word bloat, I think of what my sisters always said when she had PMS. Most of the time, I don't see that this applies to software.
As for features in MSN that are worth paying for...I'm quite happy with cable access via AT&T. MSN Broadband isn't even in my area. Further, I don't expect to use MSN8 via the bring your own ISP feature. I think MSN offers a lot to those that aren't as computer literate as I (and you and many folks out there). Parental controls, shared browsing, BillPay, among others are nice features. A good feature, whether used or not, I wouldn't consider bloat. I useless feature (like telling me the temperature of a specific hut in Antarctica) I'd likely consider bloat. |
