True stu. The fun I've had from launch (and now with XBL) was worth the extra $100.
It's like buying anything. If you buy it because you want it, price drops and deals shouldn't make much difference (especially if it means the platform may gain in popularity). If all you want is the best deal, you should probably wait until the next model is available before purchasing the current. Besides (in my case), if I waited untill now to get an XBOX, I probably wouldn't have enough money to get an NV30 and Opteron(with supporting nForce) when available. :-) |

They did implement some cost cuts on manufacturing, but it most likely didn't greatly offset what they were losing before (speculated to be about $150 IIRC).
I imagine that the main CPU, harddrive, and DVD drive are cheaper than what they were at launch, and they were able to get some cheaper motherboard components. I think they also redisigned the motherboard. This post was edited by n4cer on Monday, October 14, 2002 at 11:55. |

The new Controller-S is a much better design than the one that came with the XBox originally. Much smaller, easier to hit the button combos.
I don't know about the games. I still want to buy Rallisport and haven't gotten around to that. :) |

| After a little getting used to it, I rather like the original controller. I haven't tried any new ones, though, so perhaps I'd prefer them. |
