| I'm really falling in love with MacOS X, 10.1 is coming out (ie, it will be out of Beta for the first time, haha), and it looks sweet. |

| Fred, In some ways it is... OSX is a lot better in others (I personally LOVE Aqua and Quartz). |

| Fred, XP is a great OS, yes... but it's UI is no where near as good as Aqua and Quartz (although, there file management UI could use a LOT of work), OSX (10.1) in my opinion is just a bit more polished than XP, but both can do common tasks just as well. |

I disagree that MacOS X has a "better interface" It looks pretty yes. But at what cost? It runs dog slow. The finder is absolute trash and what the heck is the multicolumn view? I have tried to give it a chance and it used it extensively over the past month. Bottom line is I am much more productive with Windows. And isn't that what your computer is for after all?

#28, some of those issues are what's being solved in 10.1... b/c technically, OS 10.0 is still a beta release.
For instance, OSX STILL has debug code in it (this slows it down a lot)... And you are correct, Apple doesn't seem to get File Management interfaces.... the extended collum view is actually worse then it opening up a whole separate window for the new directory.... but that's just the opinion of a 17 yr. old UI guy. |

#25 You can already make windows look however you want. Go check out www.windowblinds.net and www.stardock.net/ . You can make Windows look just like OS X.
Foo, I kinda like PC cases better than the Macs now. If you know how to build your own case check out www.colorcase.com . Have you seen the new Dell cases? Those are smooth, I especially like the Dell Optiplex black small form factors. Very nice. |
