Microsoft has made much of its Tablet PC vision over the past two years. ZDNet UK brings you a hands-on preview of what the devices are really like. This week Microsoft has been giving journalists hands-on experience with its latest vision: the Tablet PC, which is to launch on 7 November. The Tablet is Microsoft's hybrid laptop/PDA that's supposed to combine the full power of the Windows environment with the nifty ability to let you input text using a Palm-style stylus. It can even recognise doctors' hand-writing and turn it into editable text. Or so we're told... | ||

| Is the Author of the article aware that there is a thing called "Pocket PC" available on the market? He only refers to Palm and Palm OS completely ignoring the Pocket PCs. Btw I repeat my point of view: I am shopping for a new laptop and I am oriented to buy one of these new "Tablet PC". My only doubt is that based on what I read so far I am afraid these devices will not come out in the most powerful configuration available and this ccould be a problem. I tend to use the laptop as a substitute of the desktop so I need power. Other than that and tight budgets I don't see why not to buy them instead a regular laptop. |
