Thanks Jim. MS has posted a new Windows Messenger Build for Windows XP, Build # 4.7.0104. No news yet on any updates in the build, although they are probably minor. If you know, please comment below. Thanks!
Bob ...I think it is suppose to come out w/ MSN 8.

microsoft should really drop the 'msn' from messenger. let me think does messenger run on other platforms (even if it does windows media player does too)? let's just call all versions windows messenger and eliminate the foolish name redundancy.

Windows Messager - chat with text, video & sound, control applications, etc.
MSN Messenger - chat with text
MSN Messenger needs Microsoft Netmeeting to be able to use video & sound with other people. Windows Messenger has the functions built-in

Windows Messenger is also what facilitates Remote Assistance under Windows XP Home Edition.
Strange as it is...

Well, at least not about this.

bobsmith, you are incorrect. MSN Messenger runs on other platforms... namely Macs.

I didn't say it didn't run on other platforms. I said even if it did, so does Windows Media Player, so Messenger should still be called Windows Messenger if its running on a different platform.
