Does anyone know where you can download just the whole network install for this? I don't want the IEAK. I just want the full installer so I can put it on the network.
In the past I'd do this at the Windows Update corporate site, but this site is becomming more useless for this as time goes on. It's really been neutered lately. And I suspect it will evenually show up in my TechNet Plus or Action Pack subscriptions, but I need it now. I know I can use a Windows 98 machine and do a "Download Only" and get it that way, but I haven't got any Win98 machines available. This feature does not exist if you do it via a 2K or XP machine, unfortunately (why the hell did they do that anyway?). As a last resort, I'll fire up VirtualPC with a Win98 Host and do it that way. Oh, and I have to say I find this SP adds a certain amount of sluggishness to both machines I've installed it on. Both are Win2K Pro.
I never have been a fan of IE6. I've always felt that MSIE 5.01 was the best performing version of IE released, but with all the new security issues that have cropped up I've bit the bullet and moved on. I'm disappointed in the performance of IE6. Very dissapointed. TL |

If you're using Win 2K and want to download the full set of files for 2K/98/NT/ME/XP without doing it via IEAK, save the ie6setup.exe to disk first, then run the command:
c:\i6sp1\ie6setup.exe /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d:1 /s:""#E" where c:\ie6sp1 is the path where you saved ie6setup.exe. |
