Last week, at a day-long get-to-know-you session that Microsoft Corp. hosted for venture capitalists, one attendee told a fable in which she compared Microsoft to a snake and asked Microsoft executives to respond. And in an on-the-spot audience poll, only 40 percent of the attendees agreed that the Redmond, Wash., software company would make a good partner for the fledgling companies in their investment portfolios. | ||

| Anyone else notice that ZD and CNet's anti-MS stories have grown with frequency, verocity, and number since Oracle and Sun have started advertising heavily with them? |

I think it's inappropriate to play the same game as the Linux kiddies. That being, that I don't think ZDNet is anymore biased towards Linux than any other media outlet.
Used to hear this a lot from neo-conservatives, complaining that the media was liberal solely because everything they had to say didn't paint them in a wonderful white shining light. Well the truth of the matter is, a good portion of the time neo-conservatives are morons. Similarly speaking, an awful lot of the time Microsoft isn't so great either. I'm as big of a proponent for their products as you get, but I for one am pissed off about this Product Activation thing. I think requiring me to use hotmail to get an Instant Messenger id is idiotic. I don't think Passport has much of a market as long as it's tied to hotmail, etc. |

#5: I'm trying to say ZDNet is pro-Linux (although I think they trumpet Linux pretty often), what I'm trying to say is that about 1/4 stories ZDNet does is something bad about MS. I've rarely seen an article talking about the great features in Windows XP. I mean, I don't think they should be doing MS PR, but there is a lot worth reporting in WinXP, and all they can seem to do is pick on it and MS all the time. It gets a little old, and suspicious. As far as the media's liberal bias, I didn't think there was any question to it. It's plainly obvious. Just watch a couple days worth of the Today show with Katie Couric. Katie can't go more than 48hrs without having some story about how wonderful Clinton is even though he's not the president anymore. |

As long as I continue to receive 25 messages advertising for sex... A DAY! I have a problem with using Hotmail, as do my friends, family and virtually everyone else I know using it.
Again, back to the liberal bias, Linux bias thing. The media is not liberally biased, and ZDNet isn't linux biased. The problem is that you are ignoring all the articles which go with your point of view and focus on the stuff that goes against. That's the problem with the Linux kiddies, just as the Amiga advocates did in the past anything that says something bad about Linux, even if true, get's roasted. Gotta send my email proclaiming how I'll never read ZdNet ever again! But you keep coming back for more... Why? |
