IBM joins .Net program for developers
Time: 02:39 EST/07:39 GMT | News Source: E-Mail | Posted By: Alex Harris

IBM Corp. joined Microsoft Corp.'s Visual Studio .Net Integration Program to make it easier for developers to build applications for its DB2 database in forthcoming Windows .Net environments, IBM said Wednesday. Tying together DB2 and Visual Studio .Net, Microsoft's application for software developers will reduce time and costs of developing applications running on DB2, IBM said in a statement. The move is no surprise: DB2 already delivers a set of tools for customers using Microsoft's Visual Studio. IBM also supports many other operating systems, including Linux and Unix.

Thanks to Stefan Demetz for the heads up.
