Verizon, Microsoft to Announce Alliance | |

Verizon Communications Inc., the No. 1 U.S. local telephone company, will announce on Thursday a new "strategic alliance" with software giant Microsoft Corp.'s MSN Internet site, the companies said. Verizon's Chief Executive Ivan Seidenberg and Microsoft's Chief Executive Steve Ballmer will make the announcement during a conference call scheduled to start at 2 p.m. EST. No further details were provided and the companies' officials were not immediately available for comment. | ||
