What does the future of video gaming look like? That depends on who you ask. If you're Sony Corp., the entertainment giant that makes blockbuster movies in addition to the PlayStation 2 game console, future video games will be more like movies. If you're a technology juggernaut like Microsoft Corp., which makes the Xbox console, future games will be more like computer software, with increasingly powerful graphics and an elaborate online infrastructure. And if you're youth-oriented Nintendo Co., which markets the GameCube, you're heading toward a world where video games are more like toys or collectibles that you trade with friends. As they kicked off the Electronic Entertainment Expo game conference in Los Angeles this week, the three consolemakers illustrated their world views with their latest games and gadgets. | ||
