The recent exodus of high- and mid-level Microsoft managers continues today with the upcoming departure of global marketing chief Mich Mathews, who announced Wednesday she is planning to leave Redmond this summer.
Mathews
Mathews is senior vice president for the Central Marketing Group and is responsible for Microsoft’s $1 billion, according to Advertising Age, in annual marketing spending. She oversaw internal and external communications, including advertising, public relations, events and product packaging.
“Twenty-two years in one place … I feel like I’ve done so much,” Mathews told AdAge. “Frankly it’s time to do something new. It’s half a lifetime. Microsoft was chapter one and it’s time for a chapter two.”
