Security Essentials tests better than Symantec, McAfee | |

Microsoft's new anti-virus software, Microsoft Security Essentials, runs faster than the leading Symantec and McAfee applications, according to a report (PDF) by AV-Comparatives. Though MSE 1.0 was rated "very fast" in every test category from unarchiving to launching programs it placed sixth among 16 anti-virus products. Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2010 trailed MSE by two spots and McAfee VirusScan Plus 2010 came in 10th place. Only one other product F-Secure Anti-Virus 2010 was rated "very fast" in every category. | ||
