Nine states suing Microsoft Corp. say the company could make a minor change to its Windows operating system to escape a requirement in its antitrust settlement guaranteeing equal access to competitors. The states said Microsoft could avoid having to provide access to competing music and video players by simply making its media feature invisible to users rather than displayed on the screen automatically. It is "one of the areas we are constantly looking at," Microsoft official Linda Averett acknowledged in court Monday. | ||
