  2.5 Million Windows 7 Beta Computers Were Synchronizing with WU Servers Before April 29, 2009

Soy Mire B: I have been hunting down for some statistics to assess the success of Windows 7 Beta Build 7000, and I came across a remark by Brad Anderson, General Manager, Management and Services Division at the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas, on April 29, 2009. Just ahead of the Release Candidate of Windows 7 shipping to MSDN and TechNet subscribers on April 30, Anderson pointed out that over two and a half million Windows 7 Beta computers were synchronizing with Windows Update servers before the RC bits were launched.
