The state attorney general is being criticized for inviting former Whitewater special prosecutor Kenneth Starr to speak at a fund-raiser. Some Republicans have said Starr's presence might be a conflict of interest since he is a lobbyist for opponents of Microsoft Corp. in the current antitrust case against the software giant. Utah is among states that have rejected a settlement of the suit. "There is a real serious problem here on ethics because of the ongoing litigation," said Kenneth Olafson, a member of the Utah Republican Central Committee. "He's on the payroll for opponents against Microsoft." | ||
