  Pinnacle Releases New DV500+ Drivers 4.0

Pinnacle has just released brand new drivers for the outstanding DV500 and DV500+ video capturing boards. The major new feature is the TurboMPEG export that exports video in MPEG 2 format twice as fast as with previous versions. Other enhancements are listed below:

  • Pinnacle Scene Cutter: This filter allows you to quickly split a long video clip into scenes.
  • MPEG2 editing: This version of the DV500 Plus software allows you to edit MPEG2 video directly in the Premiere timeline, simply by importing MP2 video and/or WAV or MPA audio files. These may be mixed freely with DV AVI files.

These new drivers also fix the following bugs:

  • MPEG2 export is no longer limited to 4Mbit/s.
  • Compatibility of the "overlay surface" preview using the Adobe Premiere monitor window has been improved.
  • The DV500 Plus Video for Windows DV codec has now been verified to work with FlaskMPEG and VirtualDub.
  • There is no longer a crash when importing a large number of AVI files, even when their audio tracks are faulty.
  • MPEG2 export using the MPEG CD presets. A bug has been fixed for corrupted audio files (3 times larger than video).
  • Hardware playback support using MediaPlayer.
