EU court to rule in landmark Microsoft case Sept. 17 | |

The European Union's second-highest court is to hand down a decision on September 17 in Microsoft's appeal against a 2004 anti-trust ruling by EU regulators, it said Tuesday. The European Court of First Instance's ruling will bring the long-running stand-off between the US software giant and the European Commission to a new height, although it will not necessarily spell its end. The Luxembourg-based court said that it would hand down its ruling in the case at 9:30 am (0730 GMT) in its Grande Salle. In 2004, the European Commission fined the US company a record 497 million euros (685 million dollars) for abuse of its dominant market position through its Windows operating system. | ||
