Did Microsoft Confuse Consumers in the Win XP Preview Program? | |

Thanks Mike. We've received word from many consumers who are upset at Microsoft for deceptively leading them to believe that if they signed up for the Corporate Preview Program they would receive Beta 2 to download as a bonus (in addition to RC 1 and RC 2 at a future date), when in actuality Beta 2 will be mailed in mid-April as the Bonus. The order form, above, does not make it clear if Beta 2 is available now, or at a later date or in hard copy form or in electronic format. However, according to the page which proceeds the order form http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/preview/order.asp it clearly states that Beta 2 will be sent in April and not available to download. Consumers who went straight to the order form, however, say they were deceived in thinking they could download the Beta 2 release today. Users who bought the corporate preview, which includes future releases of RC1 or RC2, have been granted access to a private newsgroup where they are sharing their frustrations.
