Microsofts Iain McDonald: Its the end of a (Longhorn) era | |

Iain McDonald, a guy with the humble title of Director of Project Management for Windows Server, has had a long and deep impact on Microsofts Windows organization. The 15-year Microsoft veteran has served on a variety of teams, from Product Support Services, to Exchange Server, to Windows Server. He was a leader on Windows 2000, ran the War Room for Windows XP and has been a key member of every recent Windows release team. I had a chance to chat with McDonald at the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) 2007 in Los Angeles earlier this year. We didnt talk a whole lot about Windows Server 2008. Instead, we touched on everything from his hobbies (motorcycles and guitars), to the worst project ever run, which, in McDonalds opinion, was Windows 2000. | ||
