During the Microsoft Management Summit last march, Microsoft announced that they were acquiring a license for using the EMC S.M.A.R.T.S. technology and would integrate that in the next major version of Operations Manager, currently codenamed MOMv4 (hinted to be named Operations Manager 2007 R2).
