After I updated a Windows XP computer, the OS began to ask me for permission every time I executed an application on another computer on my network. I discovered, the hard way, that there's a new option for starting Windows XP. To get rid of the annoying requests every time you start up an application on another computer, you need to set the /NoExecute=AlwaysOff command line switch as part of the startup. What does this have to do with testing applications for Windows Vista? Vista is more of the same. You'll find more security throughout the new OS, especially as it applies to network applications. Even when a setting has nothing to do with security, it may stop your application from running. | ||
