Upgrading to Vista — due out in fall for business customers and in January for consumers — is being designed to be easier than it was with previous operating systems, and Sullivan said the company expects to see "a significant number of upgraders" beyond the enthusiast crowd. "It's a more viable scenario than it has been previously because of the tools that are in place" to assist with upgrading, he said. Vista is the first Microsoft operating system to scale itself based on the amount of computer memory. The minimum requirement is 512 megabytes, but to run the snazzier display a computer needs at least 1 gigabyte. | ||
