Managing Consultant Courtney Krehbiel has surfboards for decor in his new La Jolla office. The carpet has a wave-like design, the walls are bright blue and yellow, and the conference rooms have names like "Del Mar" and "Solana Beach." The new office -- still under construction, with wires dangling from the ceiling -- represents the software maker's new presence in San Diego, following the migration of tech firms like IBM, Compaq and Hitachi ."Opening our doors in San Diego is an opportunity for both the community and for Microsoft," Dave Derry, general manager for Microsoft's Southern California District, said. "Not only does this location provide us with better access to our local customers, we are now able to invest in a region that is emerging as one of the country's finest technology centers." | ||
