EA Announces Army of Two on PS3 and Xbox 360 | |

Electronic Arts is re-inventing the wheel with the announcement of Army of Two - an action title they say was kept "top secret" for the past year, deep inside their Montreal studio. The brilliant idea behind the game isn't much of a novelty (at least if we're to think about the co-op multiplayer from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, ironically developed in the same city), and it goes something like this: there's you, there's another guy with you, and you shoot stuff. Cool, huh? Army of Two will make use of Xbox Live and PlayStation 3's future online service, but even when one of the human players will be unavailable (or suddenly disconnected), the devs tell us that a "Partner AI" (PAI) will seamlessly step in to continue the fight, in a more or less tactical manner. The action takes place in contemporary environments, with political turmoil, conspiracies and private military corporations, ideal for a small war kept under the radar. The release is due in 2007, but it remains to be seen if the game will be shown at E3. | ||
