Microsoft Net Profit Falls on Legal Charge | |

Microsoft Corp. on Thursday posted a smaller quarterly net profit -- the result of a $660 million legal charge -- but saw strong sales that topped Wall Street expectations due to the strong launches of its new Windows XP operating system and Xbox video game console. But the company said it foresaw more sluggishness in the personal computer market as well as in the already struggling economy, casting a shadow over the coming quarters. | ||
