Softimage Co. has announced that it has formed a development partnership with Microsoft to provide 3D art tools for Xbox animation. Game developers and artists for Xbox titles will be able to utilize Softimage|XSI art tools and middleware, such as Softimage|RTK Motion. "We're doing something special that raises the bar for interactive media artists, by letting them squeeze every drop of graphical power out of Xbox,'' said Softimage's product manager for interactive media tools, Gareth Morgan. "The unique animation capabilities of Softimage|XSI, coupled with its advanced API and open art pipeline, give artists and developers the creative tools they need to get the job done easily and efficiently.'' | ||
