Sun's pal Fujitsu to adopt Intel chips | |

Fujitsu announced Thursday it is joining forces with Intel on a new line of Linux-based servers and mainframe computers, in move that should stoke the ongoing server war. The Japanese computing giant plans to come out with dual-processor and multiprocessor servers containing Intel's Xeon chips by the end of 2004. A year after that, it expects to release an Itanium-based mainframe-class system that can hold up to 128 processors. | ||
