Microsoft pledges more aid for Asia | |

MICROSOFT is expanding its community and economic development programs in Asia as part of its global campaign to give poor people access to computers. Speaking at a Microsoft forum in Singapore, chief executive Steve Ballmer said the strategy mixed altruism and philanthropy with smart business strategies because rising computer literacy around the world meant more business. "We made a decision that we're going to allocate a certain amount of our human capital, our research and development, our money, our cash to make sure that we're participating in helping raise the general tide of information technology around the world," he said. | ||
